Hip hop greats Eminem and Snoop Dogg recently released the music video to their Collab “From the D to the LBC”, previewing their bored apes in the video.

In recent years, both of them have dug into the NFT ecosystem and currently own several digital collectibles. The music video itself is partly animated at the point when the two hip-hop icons are displayed with the popular Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs(BAYC).

Eminem announced on social media back in December 2021 that he had purchased his Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT for 123.45 Ether (approximately $450,000 at the time). This BAYC NFT is still his current Twitter Profile Picture. Snoop Dogg is also portrayed in the video by one of the BAYC NFTS he purchased last year.

Outside buying a BAYC NFT last year, Eminem has also invested in numerous digital collectibles related to his NFT account on Opensea, Shady Holdings. Eminem has also launched his NFT collection called Shady Con (Named after his iconic hip hop nickname, Slim Shady).

Snoop Dogg has, on the other hand, even been more involved with the cryptocurrency and NFT ecosystem. He was an avid promoter of dogecoin last year, but his most notable engagements in NFTs came after he was revealed to be the anonymous Cozomo de’ Medici. An NFT collector that had held digital collectibles and assets worth close to $20 million then.

He also announced his plans to have a Cardano Blockchain collection, was an investor in the seed round of MoonPay, released other Bored-Ape-themed music, owns digital real estate in The Sandbox, and wants to bring virtual weed farms to the Metaverse.

The pair are also part of a widespread group of musicians who are partly shifting their focus to NFTs and the metaverse including Soulja Boy, Azealia Banks, Quavo, Lil Baby, 2 Chainz, Jack Harlow, Lil Pump, Iann Dior, Post Malone, Ja Rule, Saigon, 6ix9ine, Jeezy, A$AP Rocky, Doja Cat, and Rick Ross. The NFT bug is still spreading like wildfire and we expect more artists to join this exciting economic ecosystem soon.
