One of the top blockchain technology companies in the world, Algorand, has publicly announced the replacement of its former interim CEO with a new interim CEO, effective from 27th July 2022.
Steven G. Kokinos recently stepped down as the company’s CEO; and having it in mind that the company cannot effectively run without a CEO, the company’s top officials quickly moved to appoint Sean W. Ford as Steven’s successor.
Steven Kokinos’ reasons for stepping down are not clear enough, as he says he is ready to “pursue other interests”. However, he will remain a senior advisor to Algorand for about a year until mid-2023, as his level of experience will come in handy. Before getting to work with Algorand, Steven founded Fuze — a software development company. And until his resignation, Steven worked with Algorand for 4 years (from 2018).
On the part of Sean W. Ford, he joined Algorand in 2018; and until he was appointed interim CEO, he served as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the company, being responsible for go-to-market operations involving product management, global community development, marketing, and engineering.
He has had his fair share of experience as he, before moving to Algorand, worked as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at LogMeIn, member of the Executive Leadership Team of Avid Technology, CMO of Syncsort, CMO and COO of Zmags, and Vice-president of Global Business Unit (GBU) marketing at Oracle.
Expectations are high, as Ford’s wealth of experience is expected to play out as he spearheads the hub of activities at Algorand. He stated that he is ready to take the blockchain company to the next level, and Kokinos believes the company will run smoothly under Ford’s leadership.
